Reliability Black Belt

Training number: Reliability_A02

Program management:

  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Bertsche
  • Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Kfm. Patrick Jäger

Target group:

Engineers, technicians, specialists and executives from the areas of development, testing, design, research, production, quality assurance and management

About the topic:

The reliability and service life of products and facilities represent vital competition factors in this day and age. Dependable products increase customer satisfaction on the one hand, and reduce accruing guarantee and concession expenses. It is becoming increasingly important for many manufacturers in the capital goods sector to predict and reduce the life-cycle costs of their facilities and products. A methodical planning and safeguarding of the product reliability, availability and service life are necessary to meet these challenges in the face of the complexity of today’s systems.

Training procedure and goal:

The Reliability Black Belt® comprises the second module in the qualification as a Reliability Engineer. This module deals with specialization and contains various methods from the fields of Reliability Management, Root Cause Analysis, Design of Experiments, Durability Modeling, RAM/LCC as well as Software Quality.
The goal of this training is to have specialists at your disposal in your own organization, which can independently solve complex problems and work on challenging issues. The Reliability Black Belt® is thus also able to professionally handle organizational and project-specific interfaces (e.g. Production, Sales and Purchasing).

Training content:

  • Reliability Management
Reliability process | Reliability targets - System view/Component view | Reliability monitoring | Reliability growth management | Warranty cost calculation and optimization
  • Repairable Systems and RAM/LCC
